Design4Structures was appointed to provide the structural design and detailing for a luxury bespoke 2-storey residential dwelling.
Delivering RIBA Stages 4 and 5, our team was tasked with reviewing the traditional engineering design and valued engineered the structure in light gauge steel and hot-rolled steel to ensure design efficiency and suitability.
Adopting a panelised scheme allows the plot to be built quicker than traditional blockwork. In addition to this, working within a BIM environment and developing a fabrication model, enabled higher accuracy throughout the project delivery. Working with our client to use the U-Roof sections, D4S were able to remove the hot rolled ridge beams and come up with an attic solution, formed from light gauge steeled frame, reducing the overall tonnage of the project significantly.
