Collida is Willmott Dixon’s integrated construction platform that gives clients greater control over their development needs, utilising MMC it is a modern approach to construction delivery. It will deliver a solution with a Pre-Manufactured Value (PMV) in excess of 70% whilst catering for all designs regardless of shape, size and scale.

Their national manufacturing network spans both off-site and on-site components, with manufacturer and off-site specialist partners across all seven categories of the MMC Definition Framework. Design4Structures joined Collida in early 2021 as their specialist partners, providing structural engineering and design services with particular experience in MMC and offsite form of construction.

Our specific involvement is to develop efficient and flexible structural solutions for low-rise houses and apartments, which will combine sustainable engineering and cutting-edge engineering. The project will provide Passivhaus certifiable, net zero carbon homes and apartment, which can be placed anywhere nationwide. A prototype of a semi-detached house is currently being built on the grounds of BRE Innovation Park and will be tested over the next few years.

Once the project reaches stage RIBA stage 5 our construction modelling team has been commissioned to deliver the Tekla detailing and modelling to a manufacturing level of detail.
