Design4Structures were appointed under a design and build contract by IDSE Ltd to provide a coordinated structural design for a 13-storey residential block in Silvertown, London. The scheme consists of high-quality apartments on the upper floors with a double storey lobby and plant rooms on the lower levels. The top level incorporates both a green roof system and photovoltaic panels.

Our team of structural engineers worked alongside Level Architecture to develop a reinforced concrete frame design with “flat slab” construction. The development includes a precast concrete cladding system, developed by FPMccan supported on the slab edges using a cast-in channel system. The frame has been designed with an allowance for the crane to be located within the footprint of the building, due to the strict cranage limitations imposed by the site boundary and neighbouring DLR.

Design4Structures also provided RC detailing services for the reinforced concrete frame and foundations of the building.
