James started his career working as a steelwork fabricator erector, then a structural detailing apprentice, and now with 17 years in the design and detailing engineering sector he brings a vast amount of experience to all projects. He is committed to finding and adapting smarter workflows and software that integrate manufacturing and construction technologies, helping to push the industry forward, working on landmark projects such as The Walkie Talkie and London Olympic projects.

Jon has a genuine passion for innovation in engineering and digital project delivery. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and has comprehensive experience of BIM and the collaborative working process. He takes a huge amount of pride and satisfaction from working with outstanding teams at Arup and AECOM delivering key projects such as Serpentine Pavilion, Heathrow Terminal 5, The Pinnacle Tower, Qatar National Museum, Leadenhall Tower, and Chiswick Park.

With more than 25 years’ experience in multidisciplinary building design, he has collaborated with leading architects and clients around the globe. Bringing his experience of complex structural steel, concrete and refurbishment to Design4Structures, he drives change through forward-thinking.
