Design 4 Structures has been formally recognised as an NHBC Light Steel Framing (LSF) certifier, reinforcing the role we already play across offsite and MMC projects.
Our work in this area supports schemes using SCI-certified light steel framing systems, where structural design, system limitations, interfaces and warranty requirements must be carefully aligned. We work closely with contractors and developers to ensure LSF solutions are applied correctly on a project-specific basis, with clear justification where engineering judgement is required.
Depending on the project and procurement route, our involvement may include taking design responsibility for LSF elements and wider scheme coordination, or providing independent certification and technical assurance to support review by NHBC, LABC or other warranty and regulatory bodies. In all cases, the objective is the same: to provide clarity, manage risk and support compliant delivery as schemes move from design into construction.This recognition reflects our experience working on complex light steel framing projects, where design ambitions, system limitations and programme pressures all have to be carefully balanced to achieve a buildable outcome.
