This co-living development of 329 units is located on Woking High Street, with 18 storeys including a single-storey basement.
Appointed by JRL Group and Halycon Development Partners, we provided support from Stage 2 through to construction.
Our design took account of the congested site and proximity to Network Rail which presented challenges around drainage creation and service delivery elements.
Early engagement in the structural and infrastructure design allowed us to develop an optimised solution tailored to the client’s needs. We initially proposed a hybrid RC and off-site modular concept that complied with updated Building Regulations while balancing lifting constraints and maximising surface water attenuation on the constrained town centre site. By managing all structural elements in-house, including both RC and modular construction, we eliminated the complexities typically associated with transfer structure interfaces, reducing risk and streamlining coordination for our client.
Our infrastructure team also developed an intricate drainage strategy to navigate existing services and public sewers, working closely with the architect and landscape architect to meet planning requirements while maintaining the project’s design vision.
